No Wrong Door Protocol 2

The No Wrong Door 2 Protocol document, first draft has been developed in consultation with partner agencies and their workers within the Hume Health  Region. It has evolved through significant consultation with regional consumer & carer groups and regional organisations whom refer to or work within mental health & drug and alcohol services.
This project builds upon the Central Hume Primary Care Partnership, Paving the Way No Wrong Door Inter-agency Protocol, launched in November 2006.
This document is a guidebook to agencies and their staff in relation to how to deliver a No Wrong Door service and how to work with neighbouring agencies within a seamless and integrated service system.

The launch and official signing of the final document is scheduled for the 21st July 2010.

No Wrong Door Phase 1 protocol

“Paving the Way” was initiated in 2005 by Ovens & King Community Health Service in response the challenges of building sustainable relationships across the service sector.  It was recognised that while most people had great intentions to work collaboratively, the road was neither clearly defined nor without potholes.

The process to build a multi agency protocol for Drug & Alcohol and Mental Health services in the Central Hume region was deliberately crafted to maintain momentum, enthusiasm and involvement.  From the outset, the vision was embraced by CEOs of each agency and senior staff and the final protocol was launched in November 2006.

In December 2008, the original protocol was further adopted by agencies who are members of the Eastern Hume Dual Diagnoisis Group.  These agencies signed the protocol and are committed to the eventual expansion of the document to the entire Hume region.
